Knit & Chat for Charity
We have suspended meetings for the moment in line with the governments advice on the coronavirus outbreak . I’m sure plenty of members are still knitting and we will have a big parcel to send to Knit for Peace when the world returns to normal.
This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 10.00am to 12md to knit items for charity.
This is a fun friendly group and we welcome everyone along. If you can’t knit just come along for a chat.
During the enforced lock down we are adding some suggestions for Bible readings to our site.
Read Jeremiah ch.23 v 1-6 and Psalm 23
Shepherding by Janet Lees.
Look around you and see God’s shepherds; out on the hills gathering the flock, but also in schools mentoring young people, in day nurseries nurturing toddlers, in the community restoring neighbourhoods, in nursing homes caring for the vulnerable and in factories keeping apprentices on the right track.
Wherever it’s a question of choosing the right path, for God’s sake look for the shepherds.
At the junction, when you cross the busy road, outside the school or on patrol in Afghanistan, look for God’s shepherds.
Someone who shares life and death, or a cup of tea, welcome as nectar.
In all of this know God’s mercy and goodness made real to you every day of your life.
